THE NIRVATRA TRILOGY

Nalah

In a realm of light and peace, the blue-skinned Nirvatrans are a dying breed, hunted for sport by their cruel neighbors, the Navah. Nalah, daughter of a revered spiritual leader, knows the stakes of this war better than anyone. After a hunting party is ambushed, she and her brother are forced to run for their lives from a relentless Navah warrior, Kahlan.

Cornered and wounded, they turn the tables, and Nalah is moments from delivering the killing blow. But as she lunges, she sees it—a fiery red glow on his chest, the sacred mark of a predestined soulmate. Her mother’s words echo in her mind: this vicious enemy is the one the Creator sent for her.

Now, Nalah is torn between her duty and her destiny. To save her people, she must kill her soulmate. To save her soulmate, she must betray her people. Her decision will either be their salvation or their doom.

Nirvatrans

Kahlan

The chase was a fever in my blood. The male Nirvatran was quick—I’d give him that—a flash of blue through the emerald gloom. But the female… she was something else.

She moved like a whisper on the wind, all grace and desperate cunning. For a moment, as she stood poised on the cliff's edge, the strange, eternal light of this accursed realm had illuminated her face. Not the placid serenity of her kind, but a wild, defiant fury. A stark, vivid beauty that hit me with a force I didn't understand. It was an insult to everything Navah stood for, this light, this peace, this beauty in a creature I was supposed to despise.
